Our interdisciplinary approach focuses on identifying the biomechanical, environmental and social factors that may be related to your symptoms and creating a personalized plan to address them. We do not believe that one size fits all, so your plan of care will likely reflect many different techniques based on your history, present needs, and future goals.
Our stability programs are customized to fit your unique needs and goals, with a focus on sustainable lifestyle changes and healthy habits that support your body and your desire to be comfortable in your body and in your environment.
We are passionate about interscholastic and club sports, but we know that regular competition can sometimes overshadow sound training in foundational strength. At PhysiAlign, we specialize in the middle and high school athlete.
The Rigo Schroth-Based Method incorporates three-dimensional curve-specific physical therapy exercises based on the principles of Katharina Schroth, and developed further by Dr. Manuel Rigo, MD. Exercises are intended to help decrease the risk of curve progression, improve postural awareness, reduce pain, increase strength, and improve breathing and body mechanics. This exercise approach helps to educate and to motivate with an overall goal of improving the whole individual's quality of life.
We are trained through American Bone Health (now part of Bone Health & Osteoporosis Foundation) whose primary mission is "teach people how to build and keep strong and healthy bones for life with practical and up-to-date information and resources to engage, educate and empower them to prevent bone loss, osteoporosis and fractures." We love bones and we want you to love yours too. We will work with you and your primary care practitioner to develop a unique bone health program.
Scoliosis specific physical therapy exercise is indicated for individuals who have juvenile, adolescent or adult idiopathic scoliosis, excessive curvature of the thoracic spine (kyphosis), and/or flatback. Schroth-based scoliosis specific exercises are used during brace weaning stages, pre- and post-surgically for all ages, for juvenile and congenital scoliosis, and for optimal curve management across the lifespan. Each case is unique, but this method is intended to be used as part of a team approach with your primary care practitioner, orthopedist, orthotist, and if applicable, mental health counselor.
